About the Authors

William N. Abel person
William N. Abel (Fred Beebe) is a professor of economics at Long Beach City College. Since 1989 he has taught post-secondary education ranging from graduate level to introductory courses. In academia he has worked as a college educator, faculty mentor, and a consultant for the California History Social Science Project at CSULB. In the private sector he has been a financial analyst, logistics consultant, and currently serves as a Board Director and Corporate Officer for several firms. Professor Beebe is the owner of the trade name "Easeonomics" the online learning system. He has degrees in Economics and Business Education with teaching credentials in Marketing, Management, Office Technologies, and Economics.
Agnosco Mappa person
Agnosco Mappa (J. Chris Carter), PhD, is a professor of geography at Long Beach City College. His areas of specialization include economic, urban, and population geography, as well as geographic information systems and a regional focus on Latin America. His instructional experience is extensive, with over a decade teaching traditional and online courses. In addition to teaching at Long Beach City College, Dr. Carter has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the California State University system and university courses in Latin America. Dr. Carter also holds an MBA degree, and has worked as a researcher in international trade.
