Instant Access
Get an Access Code for Your Class
Instant Access is available to anyone who adopts a BVT textbook. We provide you with an access code to share with your students by any means you choose (e.g., in the LMS, in your syllabus, via email, etc.). This access code gives your students free LAB BOOK access (or BVTLab for certain titles) for the first two weeks of class, while they explore options for procuring their textbook. It also provides a 10%-off coupon for our webstore, allowing them to purchase LAB BOOKPlus for a discount during that 2-week window. If you need more than 2 weeks (e.g., for students on financial aid), just let us know.
With Instant Access, you can rest assured that all of your students have access to the correct materials on day one of class, so no one gets left behind.
A key advantage of our Instant Access program is that students can choose whether or not to purchase the digital-only LAB BOOKPlus product, or whether they want TEXTBOOKPlus, which bundles LAB BOOKPlus with a loose-leaf textbook.

Inclusive Access
Inclusive Access (sometimes called “First Day”) is done at the campus level (usually involving the bookstore), and not all campuses are yet set up to offer this. If Inclusive Access is available on your campus, students get the particular version of the eBook (see Partner Platforms) prescribed by the campus and bookstore. This might be a VitalSource or RedShelf eBook, or might be our LAB BOOK, depending on your campus’s rules. Please be aware that our VitalSource or RedShelf eBooks are PDF-based, do not render well on a smartphone or tablet, and do not offer any of the advanced features of our LAB BOOK.
One key advantage of the Inclusive Access model is that rather than each student purchasing the product from us or the bookstore, it is automatically charged through to their campus account. Students can opt out of this automatic purchase if they have already procured their materials by another means.
LMS Integration
BVT offers three ways to integrate our eBooks and online classroom into your Learning Management System or LMS (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, D2L, etc.).
1. Basic Web Link (with Instant Access)
With this option, you simply paste a courtesy web link and instructions in your LMS, and your students create an account at our wesite, and access their materials there. You can do this with or without out Instant Access program.
2. LTI Link (with Instant Access)
With this option, we can helkp you set up an LTI link for your students to access our platform. LTI stands for Learning Tool Interoperability, an initiative from the IMS Global Learning Consortium which standardizes most LMS integrations in the US. This can also be called a "single-sign-on" link, as your students only need to sign into their LMS account once, and they can access our platform without a second sign-on required for our site. They would, however, need to create a store account with us if they want to purchase from us directly.
3. Full LMS Integration
With this option, your LMS and our platform can communicate directly. The greatest benefit of this is that as students complete their assessments on our platform, the grades can be pushed directly into your LMS gradebook, minimizing the work you need to do at the end of the semester. An obvious benefit of this is that your students will be able to monitor their overall grade progress within the LMS gradebook.
eBook Platform Partners
BVT is proud to offer eBooks on the following platforms. Talk to your BVT textbook specialist to determine what platform is best for you. Prices (to the student) for our national titles are indicated in the table below.

Print Products
Many instructors and many students still prefer their textbooks in printed form, and BVT respects and supports that decisions. We offer all of our national titles in the following print formats.
Product Name | Description | Typical Student Price (new) |
---|---|---|
Loose Leaf | 3-hole punched unbound textbook (shrink-wrapped) | $40 to $70 |
TEXTBOOKPlus | Bundle including Loose Leaf + LAB BOOKPlus | $50 to $80 |
Soft Cover | Bound soft-cover textbook | $150 to $200 |
Custom projects can be done in specialty formats, such as spiral binding, perforated soft-cover, and smaller "handbook" formats.
